Conflicts are part of an open society. What matters is how we deal with them. What happens when conflicts are not avoided, but shaped? Are there ideas for cultural projects in which disagreement is understood as a respectful and constructive way of moving forward — projects in which resistance is not only directed against something, but also supports the search for common ground?

For the 12th Innovation Award for Socioculture, the Board of Trustees of the Fonds Soziokultur has nominated a total of 13 projects that explore constructive ways of dealing with conflict. The call for applications aimed to use artistic and cultural approaches to take the destructive heat and hostility out of conflicts and encounters, and to strengthen respectful interaction in our society.

The award recipients will be announced at a formal award ceremony on 26 November 2026 at 6 p.m. in Leipzig. We invite you to save the date. Further information about the agenda and registration will follow.
